The Tornadoes swept through Fredonia last Friday evening looking to keep their momentum going from week 1 and certainly did just that. It was a total team win with just about every member on the team contributing. The Tornado offense got off to a hot start with a ground attack led by Peyton Hare, TJ Mills and Justin Andrews, scoring on their opening drive with a 4 yard touchdown run by Hare. The defense then forced a 3 and out and the offense got right back to work with their 3 pronged rushing attack, this time Andrews scoring on a 25 yard scamper. While Fredonia would gain traction on their next drive, the Tornado defense would get the ball back via a Noah Rippy punch out recovered by Gauge Lopez. The two teams would then trade punts before Hare would trample over the Fredonia defense for a 58 yard touchdown run. After an exchange of unsuccessful drives, the Yellowjackets would get on the board with a scoring drive of their own. The Tornadoes would go into the half leading 228. The Tornadoes didn’t take long to get going again, this time they would score on a 47 yard touchdown pass to Mills from Hare. The Yellowjackets would once again answer with a score of their own, but this would prove to be the last time they would score on Eureka that evening. The Tornadoes would march down the field with their rushing attack ending with a 12 yard touchdown run by Hare. The Yellowjackets trying to keep up with the Tornado scoring frenzy would try to attack through the air but Cruz Escareno would end those hopes with an interception. The Tornadoes would make sure the turnover would lead to points attacking the Yellowjackets again on the ground leading to a 14 yard touchdown run by Hare. The Final: Eureka 44 - Fredonia 14.
