The Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Association (GCCA) is busy finalizing plans for this year’s Cattlemen’s Day on Saturday, Nov. 1, which will celebrate 100 years of county ranchers working together for the betterment of the beef industry. The GCCA board of directors hopes to make the event bigger and more fun than ever before.
The theme for the parade is “Greenwood County Ranching – 100 Years Strong.”
GCCA is looking for community members who have old wagons, carriages, farm vehicles or tractors who are willing to drive them in the parade. Prizes are offered. Please contact Chad Gibson at 620750-0049 for additional information.
Are you a Greenwood County artist or photographer? GCCA would love to feature your selected artwork in its banquet program, and on postcards. The subject matter must be of Greenwood County ranching scenes or landscapes. For more information, call Michele Seeley at 918-331-6034.
Main Street businesses are encouraged to be open that day. More information will be forthcoming as the date draws closer.
