The Madison City Council meets bimonthly on the first and third Mondays of the month. The following report was generated from the official minutes of the August 11 meeting, which were approved at a recent meeting.
The Madison City Council held their regular meeting on Aug. 11 at 7:01 p.m. The agenda, with the addition of a 5-minute executive session for real estate, minutes of the July 21 meeting, accounts payable and water adjustments were approved.
City Clerk Alice Grimm presented the council with July timesheets. She also informed the council about a budget analysis with Mike Peroo that will be held on Aug. 18. Clerk Grimm presented the council with the CCLIP packet to sign and also informed the council that another project, to be used for Mulberry Street, was awarded a CCLIP.
The council approved to abate property at 606 W. Madison Avenue and to send pre-violation letters to 121 N. 5th, 115 N. 4th, 405 S. 3rd and 410 W. McCurry. Multiple violations and extensions were discussed by the council.
The council discussed visiting with the kids at school about doing community projects. Other reports were given regarding the following items: Needs for the pool; Issues at the lake; roads and the suggestion of selling the backhoe.
The council held two executive sessions for a total of 10-minutes. The first was for Non-Elected Personnel, and the second was for Real Estate. (No subject was given for either executive session.)
After returning to open meeting, no decisions were made.
