Fundraiser This Wednesday, Aug. 13 For Greenwood County All Veterans Memorial Wall

A special Pizza Hut fundraiser will be held this Wednesday, Aug. 13, with hopes of raising funds to assist with an urgent restoration need for a landmark in Eureka. The Greenwood County All Veterans Memorial Wall, on Main Street in Eureka, is in urgent need of restoration. Over the years, time and weather have taken their toll on the wall — shifting and separating the stones that honor the brave men and women who served our country.

Koup Family Funeral Home, long-time stewards of the memorial, has taken steps to secure a repair bid. The estimated cost to properly remove, dowel, and reset the stones with a water barrier and stone adhesive is nearly $12,000. Unfortunately, the original Memorial Fund currently holds less than a quarter of that amount.

Customers are able to order from the Eureka Pizza Hut fundraiser this Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. and must note the fundraiser when ordering. Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the fundraiser.

Direct donations for the cause can be sent to: Greenwood County All Veterans Memorial, which can be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, PO Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.
