Johnsons Honored As “Friends Of The Fair” Prior To Annual Livestock Sale
The Alan and Michelle Johnson Family

Alan and Michelle Johnson have been dedicated supporters of 4-H and the Greenwood County Fair for decades, earning them the well-deserved title of “Friend of the Fair.” The annual award is presented by the Greenwood County 4-H Foundation to an individual or individuals for going above and beyond in the support of the Greenwood County Fair and 4-Hers.

Michelle was a proud member of the Union Shockers 4-H Club in the 1970s and 1980s, serving as both a reporter and secretary until she graduated. Alan was also involved in 4-H during his youth.

Their deeper involvement began in 2002 when their oldest son Lane began his 4-H journey with the Fancy Mustangs 4-H Club. The family later switched clubs with all three of their children, Lane, Kennedy and Cody, completing their 4-H journey with the Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club. For more than two decades, the Johnson family has been a constant presence and guiding force in the 4-H community.

Alan has served as a Greenwood County 4-H Foundation member for over 20 years. His leadership and commitment were instrumental in the development of the new livestock barn, a lasting contribution to future generations.

Michelle has been an active leader in the Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club for more than two decades. Her dedication goes beyond her own children’s participation— you could always find her helping at nearly every event, supporting all 4-H youth with the same energy and care.

On Monday, July 28, before the annual livestock sale, the Greenwood County 4-H Foundation proudly presented the “Friend of the Fair” award to Alan and Michelle Johnson. They were joined by their children and grandchildren as the community honored their years of service and unwavering support.
