Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash late Friday morning in southern Greenwood County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).
According to the KHP, the accident was reported at 11:37 a.m. at the south intersection of US Highway 400 and Kansas Highway 99.
The KHP crash log noted that Elizabeth Botts, 40, of Neodesha, was driving northbound on K-99 when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Her vehicle, a 2005 Ford Five Hundred, collided with a 2021 Buick Enclave, traveling on US-400, driven by Myra Barnett, 45, of Fredonia.
Botts sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment.
A 13-year-old passenger in Barnett’s SUV was taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka with suspected minor injuries. M. Barnett and a 16-year-old passenger were not injured, according to the report.
The KHP continues to investigate the incident.
