TEFAP Food Distribution To This Saturday

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) food distribution will be on Saturday, July 26 for a regular distribution. The distribution will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

TEFAP distributes food routinely every other month, locally. This Saturday, patrons will receive their distributions at “Caring Hearts Pantry” located at 5th and Pine Streets at the old Eureka Greenhouse location.

There are also new eligibility guidelines for qualification. Families and individuals must meet income-based guidelines to qualify. See table on page 4.

Those attending the food distribution are asked to remain in their vehicles and follow the signs directing traffic through a drive-thru pickup line.

Individuals can pick up for others; however, signed documents are required to ensure they qualify and that you have permission to pick up for them. Copies of the forms can be found at The Eureka Herald or on the Eureka Church of Christ Facebook page.

Patrons will pick up their distribution at 5th and Pine Streets. Those participating are asked to begin lining up by traveling west on 6th Street from Main Street. Patrons will continue south on Poplar Street and north on 5th Street. Please do NOT block intersections, alleys or driveways.

For more information on the local TEFAP food distribution, contact Stuart Woodie at 620-960-1218.

About TEFAP

TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost.

The amount of food each state receives out of the total amount of food provided is based on the number of unemployed persons and the number of people with incomes below the poverty level in the state.
