President Dallas Luthi called the June 25 special meeting of the Madison/ Virgil USD 386 board of education to order at 5:31 p.m. Roll call was answered by D. Luthi, Jannette Luthi, Amy Hind and Jennifer Watts. Also attending were Tammy Baird, Dallas Woolf, Alana Engle, Madelyn McClendon and Marcie Harrison. Ty Gaines and Justin Isch were absent.

The board held two executive sessions, totaling 45-minutes, with their Superintendent and McClendon, to discuss personnel matters (no subject was shared).

After returning to open session, the board accepted the resignation of Luke Wilson as Assistant High School football coach.

After meeting with Dusty Davis from ICI, the board approved the current ICI insurance carrier for the 2025-2026 school year with the $5,800 buy-down option.

The board approved to accept all changes to the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) policies as directed by KASB.

The board held two executive sessions, totaling 25-minutes, with their superintendent to discuss employer-employee negotiations. No action was taken.

The meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.

The board was slated to hold their routine monthly meeting on Monday of this week, with their next scheduled meeting being held on Monday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m.
