Four Eureka Archery Club members made the trip to Metropolis, Ill., June 26-29, for a National ASA (Archery Shooters Association) competition.
The contest included a three-day archery shoot where competitors competed in two-rounds of a 20-target shoot, spanning Friday-Sunday. A team shoot was also held on Thursday, June 26.
Brad Boulanger, Jeremy Wharton, Chason Gulick and Camden Wunderlich competed in the team shoot, where Gulick’s team claimed first place and earned a cash prize. The teams are randomly drawn from those competing in the team shoot.
Due to inclement weather/damages to the course on the second day of individual competition, the event was cancelled with placements being recorded based on their first-day scores.
Gulick placed ninth in the young adult pins class with a score of 186. Wunderlich placed 11th in the youth pins class with a score of 195. Boulanger placed 19th in the senior pins class with a 191 and Wharton placed 57th in the Known 40 Class with a 208.
The next national event is slated for Aug. 1-3 in Cullman, Ala.
