Received Top Honors In County Shooting Sports Events

The 2025 Greenwood County Fair is just a little over three weeks away and pre-fair events kicked off recently with shooting sports events.

The annual archery contest was held on June 21 at the Eureka Lake Dam and the annual shotgun contest was held on Sunday, June 29, at the Eureka Gun Range. Awards were presented during a special banquet later that evening.

Those winning top honors included, pictured above from left to right: Archery Grand Champions: Bryce Teter, Cub Division; Noah Everly-Burtin, Junior Division and Chason Gulick, Senior Division and Shot Gun Champions: Hunter Olsen, Senior Division and Clay Teter, Junior Division.

Archery

Archers began their shooting on FITA (large round target), where they could earn a total of 240 points. Archers then competed in a 20-target 3D course with the chance to score a total of 220 points, for a total of 460 points available during the county shoot.

Received Top Honors

The following are the results with the participant’s total score, followed by FITA/3D: 

Grand Champions: Cub: Bryce Teter (334, 186/128) Juniors: Noah Everly-Burtin (330, 198/132) Seniors: Chason Gulick (408, 232/176) 

Reserve Grand Champions:

Cub: Kye Beatty (331, 195/136) Juniors: Kolten Morton (301, 192/109) Seniors: Camden Wunderlich (406, 230/176) Others competing in the Cubs division included: Brody Rockhill (314, 186/128) and Adam Brodie (294, 166/128). Others competing in the Junior division included: Ruger Schouten (293, 180/113), Tavin Austin (263, 189/74), Kenyon Curry (245, 127/118), John Curry (236, 133/103) and Jackson Hobbs (216, 124/92). Others competing in the Senior division included: Fisher Hobbs (358, 215/143), William Davis (308, 208/100) and Cort Decker (215, 126/89)

 Shotgun

Shotgun participants competed in trap and skeet, where they could earn a total of 25 points per round. Juniors shot 1 round (25 clays) of trap and 1 round (25+ clays) of skeet. Seniors shot 2 rounds (50 clays) of Trap and 2 rounds (50+ clays) of skeet. The following are the results with the participants’ total score by trap/ skeet.

Grand Champions: Juniors: Clay Teter (20, 11/9) Seniors: Hunter Olson (78, 37-5/41).

Reserve Grand Champions:

Juniors: Kenyon Curry (14, 3-11) Seniors: Carson Ramsey (73, 37-2/36) Also competing in the junior division was Ruger Schouten (11, 8/3).

Others competing in the Senior division included: Fisher Hobbs (65, 30/25) and Cody Johnson (48, 20/28).

The annual Greenwood County Fair will be held Friday, July 25-Monday, July 28, with pre-fair events being held on Saturday, July 19 with photography judging, beginning at 8 a.m., and the horse show at the Saddle Club Arena, beginning at 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend the horse show.

Pre-fair events will continue on Wednesday, July 23 with fiber arts and clothing projects. A public fashion revue will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24 at 7 p.m. The pubic is invited to attend.
