Coach Hoyt and 2014 & 2015 Hoxie Teams Inducted To Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Hall Of Fame

Eureka’s head girls basketball coach was inducted into the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) Hall of Fame over the weekend, during the KBCA All-State Game in Salina on June 21.

Hoyt, along with the 2014 and 2015 Hoxie Girls Basketball teams, was inducted. The 2015 team claimed their fourth consecutive 1A State Championship with both 2014 and 2015 teams completing their seasons with a 26-0 record. The teams also recorded 107 consecutive team wins under the direction of Coach Hoyt from 2011-16, breaking the KSHSAA record of 91 set by Little Rivers. Hoxie’s record stood until 2021 when Central Heights claimed the record. The record currently stands at 138 consecutive wins.

Coach Hoyt came to Eureka in the fall of 2017, leading the Tornadoes to three state appearances and five substate runner-up finishes. Since 2017, the Lady Tornadoes have a 145-30 overall recordwithHoythavingacareer record of 615-70. While at Hoxie, Hoyt coached nine state placing teams, including four 1A State Championship Teams and two state runner-up teams. USA Today named the program the Best Program in the Nation following the 2014-15 season. Hoyt coached in Hoxie from 2001-2016. She has also coached in Archie, Utica, Attica and Madison.

Throughout her career, Coach Hoyt coached all four of her daughters, Tabitha, Jacie, Corinna and Terran, who all went on to play college ball.

Her daughter Terran (Hoyt) Larcom was a member of the Hoxie Indian basketball team from 2011-15 and was also inducted in to the KBCA Hall of Fame. She was recently named as an Assistant Coach at Oklahoma State under head coach/ sister Jacie Hoyt.
