The Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club met for their monthly meeting on June 1 at the home of the Rockhill’s after the club tour. The members and their families traveled to six homes to see the fair projects and learn about showmanship and fitting different types of animals.
President Chason Gulick called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m., with 18 members, four clover buds and three leaders answering roll call.
Acting secretary Cort Decker read last month’s minutes and acting treasurer William Davis gave the treasurer’s report. Reports were given to the members on upcoming educational trips, swim parties, and the Eureka Days parade. Cindy Hayes talked to the members about collections for the Booster Club. Leader’s reports were given on fair information and upcoming important dates.
In new business, the club voted to pay the bills presented from the BBQ after the June meeting. The club voted to move the time of the July meeting and rent the pool for a swim party. Members voted to donate money to 4-H council to purchase a new deep freeze for the concessions stand if they choose to.
Duke Coulter lead the club in singing Happy Birthday to the June birthdays. Tyler Wells gave a demonstration on how to make brownies. The meeting was adjourned. A swim party and picnic followed the meeting.
The next meeting will be Friday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the City Park. This is the club’s guest meeting, so the members are encouraged to bring a friend. Following the meeting, a picnic and swim party will be held.
