The Fall River City Council meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The following report was generated from the approved minutes of the June 11 meeting minutes, which were approved at a recent meeting.
The Fall River City Council held their regular meeting on June 11 at 7 p.m. Reports were given by the following departments: Streets; Gravel will be hauled in for East Street and on Greenwood between Cliff and West Streets. Cold patching will be done to potholes in various locations and the street/stop sign at Greenwood and Traders Ave. will be fixed. Water/Sewer; Lead and Copper water testing is coming up. The first list of testers will be contacted to submit samples. Public Enforcement; a few letters were sent out and everyone who received one complied.
The council approved the April 9 meeting minutes and the Treasurer’s Report. After discussion, the council approved to pay the $150 spray bill for Finley’s.
During the Library report, it was noted that the library is planning a hamburger/hot dog, “Feed Our City” event on June 21. Attendees are invited to bring a covered dish. The library has also scheduled Priscilla Howe on July 25 to present her comedy program while reading books to children. A report was also given regarding Happy Hour.
In old business, Council member Lori McCaffree asked about the cleanup of the property at 710 Traders Ave. and requested a letter be sent to the owner.
The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m. The next meeting of the Fall River City Council will be held at 7 p.m. on July 9 at the Community Building.
