The Elk County Commission meets weekly on Mondays at 1 p.m. The following report was generated from the approved minutes of the May 27 meeting minutes, which were approved at a recent meeting.
The Elk County Commission held their regular weekly meeting on May 27 at 1 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer, the Commissioners approved the minutes from the April 28 and May 12 regular meetings.
The following department reports were given: Kandy Dowell, Health, informed the commissioners that they will be giving out car seats and have a booth during the Bash on Wabash; Register of Deeds Stephanie Ollenborger stated she would be attending the Register of Deeds Conference in Wichita; The Green Ranch Bridge is completed and to allow the Noxious Weed Department to obtain a cell phone.
Diane Cucar, Community Development, presented bids for a new county website. Wichita Design will be contacted to design the website. Cucar also presented a site verification agreement. The commissioners approved the TEC Agreement subject to taking ownership of the right to work policy as the council deems appropriate. The commissioners also gave consensus to allow exercise classes to be held in the basement of the old UMC.
Other discussions were held regarding the Demo of the barn and house at 1285 Evergreen in Moline; Review of the KCAMP memorandum for property coverage of roofs and HVAC project invoicing timeline.
The commissioners approved the revised Everon Agreement, increasing the monthly charge to $61.79 per month. Other items approved included: a 1-year membership agreement with AirMedCare in the amount of $3,975; the KS Local Workforce Development Area V Chief Elected Official Board Agreement and Warrants in the amount of $419,438.23.
The commissioners held two Executives Sessions. The first was for nonelected personnel with Sheriff John Walker and County Counselor Paul Dean and the second was to discuss legal matters with Dean. (No justification was given for either Executive Session.) After returning to open meeting, no action was taken for either session.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:07 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Elk County Commission will be held on June 23 at 1 p.m.
