The Eureka Herald was presented with nine awards in the 2025 Kansas Press Association (KPA) Awards of Excellence (AOE) at the annual KPA convention last Friday, June 6, in Salina.
This year, journalists, photographers and designers from Texas judged the KPA AOE entries. The Eureka Herald competes in Division III, for newspapers with a weekly circulation between 1,001 and 1,500.
The Eureka Herald won four first-place awards: Editorial Writing, Photo Package, Best Use of Photos, and Best Agricultural Ad (Eureka Archery Club).
The Herald claimed second place honors in two categories: Best Specialty Ad (Eureka Archery Club), and Best Entertainment Ad (Clasen Family Memorial); and three third-place awards: News and Writing Excellence, Best Hardware Ad (S&L Hardware), and Special Section - Advertising (Fair Results).
