The Eureka Music Club gathered at the Methodist Church in Madison on Monday, May 12, for a delightful afternoon of music and fellowship. The meeting was graciously hosted by Jean Edwards and Rise Russin.
Leanne McKee and Joyce Saunders coordinated the musical program, themed “Oldies and Goodies… or Spring Flower,” which featured a variety of nostalgic and seasonal selections.
The program opened with a heartfelt vocal solo by Pat Surber, who performed “Love Letters in the Sand,” accompanied by Jean Edwards. Carla Cook shared a recording of “Whacka Doo Doo Doo,” offering background on its history and meaning.
Marla DeGraffenreid delivered a beautiful piano solo of “Deep Purple,” followed by Jean Edwards performing “Heart of My Heart” on piano. Margaret Spires then took the stage with her rendition of “When You Wore a Tulip.” Carolyn Perrier offered a moving variation on the classic hymn “In the Garden.”
The program concluded with a joyful singalong, featuring “Red Roses for a Blue Lady” and “A White Sport Coat with a Pink Carnation,” accompanied by Marla DeGraffenreid on piano.
Following the musical program, attendees enjoyed delicious refreshments of Chocolate and Carrot High Tea Cake, served by Jean Edwards and Rise Russin.
