The Elk County Commission meets weekly on Mondays at 1 p.m. The following report was generated from the approved minutes of the May 12 meeting minutes, which were approved at a recent meeting.
The Elk County Commission held their regular meeting on May 12 at 1 p.m. There were no minutes to approve.
Erica Cordell, Emergency Management, reported that she attended the monthly KEMA meeting on May 1. She also stated the storm siren passed the May test. Cordell also stated that she will take the Jeep to Eureka to be sold at auction.
Department Reports were also given by Public Works and Register of Deeds.
Diane Cucar, Community Development, stated she has been working with SCKEDD and 4-County on getting a building constructed. She also reported on the low-income survey, GAP loans, workshops she will be attending on May 22 and June 1012, the use of the ROZ Grant for a new county website, and site certification 1285 Evergreen.
After discussion, the board approved to sign the Moline T-Mobile co-location tower site. The board approved abatements and warrants in the amount of $140,290.30. The board also approved a warrant for $37.149.95 for the new Health Department Vehicle.
The board discussed the EMS Department being low on cash due to the high amount of overtime caused by being short-staffed. Efforts to hire more employees has not been successful. The board approved to transfer $100,000 from the Windfarm Fund to the EMS Fund.
The board held a 10-minute executive session for non-elected personnel to discuss wages with EMS Director Gillian Beaumont and County Clerk Kerry Harrod present. After returning to open session, no decisions were made.
The meeting adjourned at 1:55 p.m. The next meeting of the Elk County Commission will be held on June 9 at 1 p.m.
