Filing Deadline For Upcoming Election Monday, June 2

As election season approaches, residents of Greenwood County are encouraged to prepare for the 2025 Primary Election, which will determine candidates for various city and local board of education (BOE) offices. While most jurisdictions may not require a primary, it remains a crucial part of the democratic process for those that do.

The deadline to file for election is Monday, June 2, at 12 p.m. (noon).

Candidates and interested parties should contact their city or BOE clerk, or the Greenwood County Clerk’s Office at 620583-8121 for a list of open positions or filing information.

The deadline to register to vote or update voter registration for participation in the primary election is Tuesday, July 15.

If a primary election is required, advanced voting will begin on Wednesday, July 16, with the last day being Tuesday, July 29. The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 5, (if required).

General Election Dates: Registration Deadline: Tuesday, October 14 Advance Voting Begins: Monday, October 20 Election Day: Tuesday, November 4 Advance ballots by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Friday, November 7. The results will be officially certified by Monday, November 17.
