Boy, oh boy, did we ever get some rain Saturday and Sunday night. The rain beating down was really loud, even from inside the Iola hospital. It rained so hard a couple of times that I raised the blind and looked out the window to see if it was hailing. I didn't see any though.
These spring rains are definitely necessary, but we don’t need the strong winds, hail or tornadoes that others have been getting.
Which president had/ has the highest IQ?
Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.
We offer our sympathy to all who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.
School is about out for the summer, if not already out, so be on the lookout for children riding bikes, skateboards, etc and busy playing and not paying attention to their surroundings. We've all been there and done that. It's so easy to get wrapped up in what you are doing that you forget about watching for traffic.
Granted, in Toronto, there’s not a lot of traffic but, what is there is often times traffic going too fast. Kids chasing after a dog or a ball have one thing on their mind and that is to catch what they’re chasing.
Speaking of kids, the Toronto Library has big plans for the month of June. Ms. Jessie has loads of activities planned for kids of all ages. So, stop by and see what fun she has planned like movies, games, programs all kinds of cool stuff.
When I was headed to Iola Sunday afternoon to visit with Wade at the hospital, I noticed that they have poured concrete road base on the Cedar Creek bridge on the west side and are ready to pour or have poured the railing. They are at a point where progress can actually be seen.
Answer: With an IQ of 175, of all time goes to John Quincy Adams, who was the 6th president of the United States. And while many people expected John to follow his father's footsteps and lead the country, nobody expected him to be as smart or as intelligent as he was. Not only did John graduate from the prestigious Harvard University, but he was also fluent in a whopping seven languages.
It’s hard to believe that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Boy this year is sure flying by fast. The unofficial start of Summer. Many people will get their first major sunburn of the season this weekend. I hope not. I hope you remember to use sunscreen and to apply it often. I'm bad about putting it on before I leave the house and forgetting to reapply later.
If you’re traveling this weekend, leave early and allow yourself plenty of time to get where you are going. Don't get in a hurry and drive fast and put yourself and others in danger of an accident.
Have a safe and fun holiday weekend.
