The Babson Midwest Memorial Foundation named nine Eureka High School (EHS) class of 2025 members and one Hamilton High School (HHS) class of 2025 member as the “Babson Scholars.”
The recipients will receive $3,750 per semester for fouryear colleges renewable for 8 semesters or $2,500 per semester for junior colleges/ vo-tech, changing to $3,750 a semester if the junior college graduates advance to a four-year college or university. Troy Richardson is serving as president of the Foundation, with Linda Hendrickson as vice-president, Tammi Burtin as the secretary, Steven Spore as the treasurer and Deb Burtin as corporate secretary. Other board of trustees include: Karen Engle, Irlene Huntington, Keith Ball, Dr. Michael McClintick and Diltz Lindamood.
The Foundation was founded on June 19, 1970, with the first scholarship awarded in 1971. The recipients this year are members of the 55th class.
Earnings from investments provide the funds for scholarships awarded annually to graduates of high schools in Greenwood County. Over 550 students have been named Babson Scholars, with over $2,000,000 given in scholarships for higher education.
