Nine Hamilton Tigers earned their high school diplomas last Saturday, May 17. Kimber Hudson was named Valedictorian and Ashlynn Nowell was named Salutatorian.
Scholarships and future plans for the Hamilton Class of 2025 are as follows:
Candice Ashlock: Hamilton Alumni Scholarship, $100; Hamilton FFA, presented by Dana Mills, $200; The Schlotterbeck Family Scholarship, $50; American Legion, unknown amount; Allen County Community College Judging Team, Books/Tuition. She plans to first attend Allen County Community College (ACCC) on a livestock judging scholarship and enter the Pharmacy Technician program. Once she is finished at ACCC she plans to attend Hutchinson Community College and enter into the Radiology Technician program.
Koby Ashlock received his welding certification from FHTC and plans to join the work force.
Allie Ebberts: Veterans of Foreign War Post #2712, presented by Myron Gibson, $200; The Schlotterbeck Family Scholarship, $50; Leo Kerwin Memorial Scholarship, unknown amount. She plans to continue her online classes through the Catch Canine Dog Academy and eventually become a dog trainer.
Jacob Fritz plans to join the workforce.
Tisha Herschberger: Ken Hughes Scholarship, presented by Denise Stewart, $1,000; Kansas Masonic Foundation Legacy Scholarship, presented by Rex Hershberger, $1,000 per year; Hamilton FFA, presented by Dana Mills, $200; Kansas State University Ag Commitment Scholarship, $500; Kansas State University Limestone Award, $1,500. She plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Agriculture Economics.
Kimber Hudson: Veterans of Foreign War Post #2712, presented by Myron Gibson, $200; Babson Midwest Memorial Foundation, presented by Troy Richardson, $3,750 per semester for four-year colleges renewable for 8 semesters or $2,500 per semester for junior colleges, changing to $3,750 a semester if the junior college graduates advance to a four-year college or university (The scholarships are renewable for 8 semesters of study, for a total of $30,000); Hamilton Alumni Scholarship, $200; Campbell- Marshall- Handley Memorial Golf Tournament Scholarship, $500; Greenwood Helping Hand Scholarship, unknown amount; R.E. French Family Educational Foundation Scholarship, $2,200; The Sloan Family Scholarship, $50; The Ellis Foundation Scholarship - $1,000/semester; The Matt Samuels Memorial Scholarship, $500; American Legion, unknown amount; Midian Shrine Greenwood County 3 Wheelers, $250. She plans to attend Emporia State University and major in nursing. After obtaining her RN/BSN credentials, she plans to work as a labor and delivery nurse.
Landon Lewis: Leo Kerwin Memorial Scholarship, unknown amount. He plans to attend Meridian Technical Center in Stillwater, Okla., majoring in Information Technology and Cyber Security.
Reily Maier plans to enter the workforce.
Ashlynn Nowell: Hamilton Alumni Scholarship, $300; The Sloan Family Scholarship, $50; Greenwood County Hospital Auxiliary, $60; The Matt Samuels Memorial Scholarship, $500; The Nicholas Family Scholarship, $500; Hamilton Educator’s Association Scholarship, $300;Leo Kerwin Memorial Scholarship, unknown amount; Salutatorian Scholarship, Butler County Community College, Books/Tuition. She plans to attend Butler Community College majoring in Psychology. After obtaining her associates degree, she plans to work in counseling.
