Services to honor the thousands of men and women who have defended the United States in war and peace will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka on Monday, May 26, Memorial Day. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following events: On Saturday, May 24, small flags will be placed on grave markers at Greenwood Cemetery. Volunteers should meet at the cemetery at 9 a.m.
Members of the local veterans organizations and volunteers will meet Sunday, May 26, at 5 p.m. at the cemetery. The group will set the poles for the “Avenue of Flags.” The flags and poles will be removed at 5 p.m. on Monday, Memorial Day.
