Kiyra Carpenter, a senior at Eureka Junior/Senior High School (EJSHS), was recently named one of 17 recipients of the BBB Midwest Plains Student of Integrity Scholarship.
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Midwest Plains region awarded $2,000 s cho l a r shi p s to students across five states: three from Omaha, Neb. and Southwest Iowa; four from Lincoln, Neb. and greater Nebraska; three from the Kansas Plains; three from Kansas City and Western Missouri; and four from South Dakota.
These scholarships honor students who demonstrate ethical behavior, personal integrity, and embody the BBB’s core values of humility, courage, compassion, and respect for others. Carpenter was nominated for the award by EJSHS Principal Angie Lowe. Carpenter is currently enrolled at Allen Community College, working toward her Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certificate. She plans to attend Butler Community College this fall to pursue a nursing degree.
She will be formally presented with the scholarship during EJSHS’s annual Senior Day event on Friday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m.
