Harold F. Stevenson

Harold F. Stevenson, 98, of Emporia, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka. Harold was born in Orion, on June 4, 1926, the son of James A. and Garnett (Johnson) Stevenson. Harold and Janice (Hawley) Stevenson were united in marriage in Emporia, on July 6, 1946. She died December 15, 2016. Surviving family members include daughters Janell (Glen) Andrews, Eureka; Joleen Stevenson, Manhattan and Joni (Craig) Black, Emporia; as well as five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Harold was an engineer with the Santa Fe Railroad for 38 years before retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Emporia Masonic Lodge #12, A.F. & A.M., an honored 33rd degree Mason, and a member of Arab Shrine Temple/Cartoon unit, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and the First Christian Church of Emporia.

Cremation is planned and a gravesite service for the immediate family will be held later.

A memorial has been established with Hand In Hand Hospice. Contributions may be sent in the care of Roberts- Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box #175, Emporia, KS 66801, which is assisting with arrangements.
