City Of Eureka Now Accepting Applications For Housing Rehabilitation Program

The City of Eureka is now accepting applications for its newly funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Rehabilitation Program. Thanks to a recent grant award, eligible homeowners and landlords in a designated target area may receive up to $25,000 per home in funding for necessary repairs.

The program, aimed at supporting low-to-moderate-income households, will provide assistance for both owner-occupied and rental properties. A total of nine homes are slated for rehabilitation under this initiative—seven of which are owner- occupied and two rental units. In addition to housing repairs, the project includes the demolition of at least one vacant and dilapidated home to improve safety and reduce blight. Infrastructure improvements are also planned, including the reconstruction of approximately 740 linear feet of 1st Street—stretching from Poplar to Sycamore Streets—to address drainage and pavement degradation.
