JH Track To Compete At Final Meet Of Season

Eureka’s Junior High Track and Field teams were slated to compete in their final meet of the season on Tuesday of this week, at Caney for the annual Tri-Valley League meet.

The Tornadoes competed at two events last week, as they first traveled to Neodesha and hosted their annual invitational.

Neodesha Invitational On Monday, April 28, the Eureka Tornadoes traveled to Neodesha for their annual invitational, where three Tornadoes set school records. Amorette Guillaume, Felix Neill and Maddox Hughes all claimed records.

Following are the individual medaling results for Eureka participants: 7th Grade Girls

The seventh grade girls scored 20 points and placed eighth out of 13 teams.

Andee Weatherby- 1st Place in the Turbo Jav with a throw of 77’ 7”; 1st Place in the Discus with a throw of 60’ 7”.

8th Grade Girls

The eighth grade girls scored 17 points and placed 11th out of 13 teams.

Emma Baumgartel- 1st Place in the Pole Vault with a vault of 6’ 0”.

*Amorette Guillaume- 3rd Place in the Triple Jump with a jump of 26’ 8”, claiming a school record. The previous record was set by Sydney Lindamood in 2024, with a jump of 25’ 5.5”.

7th Grade Boys

Eureka’s seventh grade boys scored 62 points, placing third out of 13 teams.

Gavin Gonzalez- 2nd Place in the 1600M Run with a time of 6:07.75.

Nolan Morris- 1st Place in the 3200M Run with a time of 12:58.03 *Felix Neill- 1st Place in the Triple Jump with a jump of 30’ 9”. The previous record was set by Maddox Hughes in 2024 with a jump of 30’ 5”.

Maverick Welsh- 3rd Place in the 200M Hurdles with a time of 33.66.

4 x 200 Meter Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 2:09.46 consisting of: Cord Adkins, Felix Neill, Sebastian Guillaume, and Brandon Cornett. 8th Grade Boys

The eighth grade boys scored 53 points and placed third out of 12 teams.

Dylan Conard- 3rd Place in the Pole Vault with a vault of 6’ 0”.

*Maddox Hughes- 3rd Place in the Triple Jump with a jump of 32’ 3”. The previous record was set in 2024 by Will Morris with a jump of 29’ 4”. 1st Place in the Pole Vault with a vault of 7’ 6”.

JaKolby Robbins- 3rd Place in Discus with a throw of 87’ 9”.

4 x 100 Meter Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 53.66 consisting of: Tate Scott, Maddox Hughes, Caden Nusz and Christian Sanchez.

4 x 200 Meter Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 1:53.95 consisting of: Christian Sanchez, Dylan Conard, Tate Scott and Eli Mason.

Eureka Invitational

On Thursday, May 1, the Tornadoes Junior High track teams hosted their annual Eureka Invitational.

Following are the individual medaling results for Eureka participants: 7th Grade Girls

Eureka’s seventh grade girls scored 19 points and placed eighth out of 11 teams.

Andee Weatherby- 2nd Place in the Turbo Jav with a throw of 73’ 1”; 2nd Place in the Discus with a throw of 67’11”.

8th Grade Girls

Eureka’s eighth grade girls tallied 31 points and placed seventh out of 10 teams.

Emma Baumgartel- 3rd Place in the Pole Vault with a vault of 5’ 6”.

McKenna McDonald- 1st Place in the 400M with a time of 1:06.01; 1st Place in the 800M with a time of 2:46.15.

7th Grade Boys

The seventh grade boys scored 55 points and placed fifth out of 11 teams.

Cord Adkins- 2nd Place in the High Jump with a jump of 4’8”.

Gavin Gonzalez- 3rd Place in the 100M Hurdles with a time of 19.27 Felix Neill- 3rd Place in the Long Jump with a jump of 12’9.25”.

Maverick Welsh- 2nd Place in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’2.5”.

4 x 100 Meter Relay- 2nd Place with a time of 58.89 consisting of: Cord Adkins, Cooper Wunderlich, Landon Noonan, Nolan Morris.

4 x 200 Meter Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 2:05.85 consisting of: Cord Adkins, Felix Neill, Sebastion Guillaume, and Brandon Cornett. 8th Grade Boys

Eureka’s eighth grade boys scored 62 points and placed third out of 11 teams.

Maddox Hughes- 1st Place in the Pole Vault with a vault of 8’0”.

JaKolby Robbins- 1st Place in the Turbo Jav with a throw of 116’ 7”; 3rd Place in Shot with a distance of 34’5”.

4 x 100 Meter Relay- 1st Place with a time of 53.83 consisting of: Tate Scott, Maddox Hughes, Caden Nusz and Christian Sanchez.

4 x 200 Meter Relay- 1st Place with a time of 1:54.69 consisting of: Christian Sanchez, Dylan Conard, Tate Scott and Eli Mason.

800 Meter Medley Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 2:03.27 consisting of: Cohen Marks, Caden Nusz, JaKolby Robbins, Tate Scott.
