You can definitely tell it’s Spring. All the pastures have been burned off and the green grasses have replaced the burnt dead grass. The drive along 54 Highway north of town is beautiful! We’ve been getting just enough rain to wash away all remnants of Winter. Great time of the year.
What is a “Snollygoster?” Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers. Speaking of which, Wade is now in the Iola hospital for inpatient rehab. He’s getting closer to being back home.
We offer our sympathy to the families of Marilyn Culbertson, Roberta Samuels, and John Reed. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.
The Toronto Library is having their annual Spring Sidewalk Sale. Everything is Free Will Donation, Saturday morning, May 3 from 8-12 a.m.
Speaking of the library, Jessie Hoag has been the librarian for two years now. Today (Monday, April 28) is her anniversary date.
Country Junction recently (April 22) celebrated 33 years of providing great food, bait and gas/diesel to the community and travelers passing by.

The crew working on the Cedar Creek bridge on Highway 105 are making visible progress. You can see on the west side of the bridge where they are getting rebar in place for the side rail of the bridge.
It’s hard to see what the surface of the new bridge is looking like with those concrete barricades. Hopefully, by the end of summer they will have the bridge finished and the stoplights will just be a memory.
