Prairie Art Exhibit And Auction To Open Saturday, April 26 With Public Reception

Celebrating Flint Hills Tallgrass Prairie and Supporting Local Artists

COTTONWOOD FALLSSymphony in the Flint Hills invites everyone to the opening reception for the 2025 Prairie Art Exhibit and Auction on Saturday, April 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Symphony in the Flint Hills Gallery, 331 Broadway, in Cottonwood Falls.

This annual exhibit celebrates the beauty of the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie through the work of local and regional artists. The mission of Symphony in the Flint Hills is to heighten appreciation and knowledge of this unique landscape, and this exhibit helps bring that mission to life.

The show features more than 90 pieces of art inspired by the prairie. Guests at the opening can meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and find out which piece wins this year’s top honor.

“We are excited to once again present this extraordinary showcase of art inspired by the Flint Hills,” said Sandy Carlson, Program Manager of Symphony in the Flint Hills. “Through the Prairie Art Exhibit and Auction, we celebrate the talent of our local artists while raising funds to further our efforts of preserving and promoting the beauty of the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie.”

The full exhibit will remain open to the public through Tuesday, June 17, and an online auction will run during that time, with all artwork available for bidding. Proceeds support both the artists and the nonprofit’s prairie education programs.

The images from the exhibit will also be featured in the Art Tent at the Symphony in the Flint Hills’ Signature Event on June 14—an unforgettable day of music, art, and prairie education held near Strong City. Tickets are selling fast but are still available at www.symphonyintheflinthills. org. About Symphony in the Flint Hills, Inc.
