Fall River City Council

The Fall River City Council meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The following report was generated from the approved minutes of the March 12 meeting minutes, which were approved at a recent meeting.

The Fall River City Council meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. on March 12. The new City Council member, Dusty Rymer, was introduced. The Feb. 12 meeting minutes, treasurer’s report and bills were approved as presented.

Council President Jim Cude addressed questions regarding roads and permits needed for animals. Department reports were presented for Streets, Water/ Sewer, Fire, Public Enforcement and Library.

Treasurer Cathy Ivey mentioned the city-wide garage sales will be the weekend of April 11. Dumpsters will be delivered for the cleanup. After discussion, the council approved to place an ad in the paper not to exceed $60 to help publicize the garage sales.

After discussion, the council approved to waive mowing costs for Salt Springs Township as part of their agreement for roads.

In new business, City Clerk Christy Walta asked that all City Council members sign the Emergency Water Management Plan since it needs to be updated annually.

City Attorney Alleen VanBebber reported she had approved a proposed District Court Order from Greenwood County in regards to a tax sale. Fall River should receive around $1,000.

Also in New Business, the CBDG grants were discussed. Typically, the city council would have to provide 25% of the overall cost, however, that is not in the budget. The Lead & Copper requirements may impact residents but it is unknown how many so it is difficult to submit a grant application. Further water testing was discussed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:36 p.m.

The next meeting will be held on May 14 at 7 p.m.
