The Tornado varsity softball team went to play last Thursday, April 10 and claimed a 6-2 victory over the Mustangs of Flinthills.
Eureka made it to the board in the top of the third inning after senior Trinity Samuels singled, scoring one run, Keira Crisswell tripled, scoring one run, and Laynie Winfrey tripled, scoring two runs.
Winfrey provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Eureka with three runs batted in. She went 2-for-4 on the day. Cheyenne Gardner and Winfrey each collected two hits for Eureka. Madelyn Miller stole two bases.
Raylee Boles started in the circle for the Lady Tornadoes. She allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking four.
Eureka faced Caney on Monday, April 7. The Tornadoes fell 1-10 and 7-8.
