JH Track & Field Team Hosted Eureka Classic

The Eureka Junior High Track and Field team hosted their first meet of the season, hosting the Eureka Classic on Tuesday, April 8.

Eureka claimed several honors including one broken record, as Tornado 8th grader Andee Weatherby threw the turbo javelin 78’ for first place honors, and beat the school record of 53’, which was set in 2024 by McKenna McDonald.

8th Grade Girls

The eighth grade girls scored 60 points and finished in fourth place out of nine teams. Those earning hardware included: McKenna McDonald- 2nd Place in the High Jump with a jump of 4’ 8”; 2nd Place in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’ 8”; 1st Place in the 400M Dash with a time of 1:06.33; 1st Place in the 800M Run with a time of 2:52.09.

4 x 100 Meter Relay 3rd Place with a time of 1:01.76 consisting of: Madalyn Langer, Wenonah Welsh, Annie Bogle and Amorette Guillaume.

7th Grade Girls

The seventh grade girls scored 28 points, taking sixth place out of nine teams. Those earning hardware included: Bella Damron - 2nd Place in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’ 8.5”.

Andee Weatherby - 1st Place in Turbo Javelin with a throw of 78’ 0”; new school record.

8th Grade Boys

The eighth grade boys scored 67 points and finished in second place out of nine teams. Those earning hardware included: Maddox Hughes - 3rd Place in the High Jump with a jump of 4’ 8”.

JaKolby Robbins - 1st Place in Shot Put with a throw of 36’ 4.50” 4 x 200 Meter Relay - 1st Place with a time of 1:56.75 consisting of: Christian Sanchez, Tate Scott, Eli Mason, and Dylan Conard 800 M Medley Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 2:07.10 consisting of: Caden Nusz, JaKolby Robbins, Tate Scott and Charles Granado.

7th Grade Boys

The seventh grade boys scored 90 points, taking second place out of nine teams. Those earning hardware included: Henry Lindamood - 3rd Place in the 3200M Run with a time of 14:55.00.

Nolan Morris - 2nd Place in the 1600M Run with a time of 6:11.42.

Felix Neill - 2nd Place tie in the 100M Dash with a time of 15.2; 3rd Place in the 400M Dash with a time of 1:09.58.

Maverick Welsh - 3rd Place in the 100M Hurdles with a time of 21.39 4 x 100 Meter Relay- 3rd Place with a time of 1:02.35 consisting of: Nolan Morris, Cooper Wunderlich, Asher Euler and Landon Noonan.

4 x 200 Meter Relay 2nd Place with a time of 2:14.55 consisting of: Cord Adkins, Felix Neill, Sebastion Guillaume, and Brandon Cornett.

Up Next

Eureka was scheduled to compete at Fredonia on Tuesday of this week, before traveling to Madison on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m. The Tornadoes will then travel to Yates Center on Tuesday April 22, at 3:30 p.m.
