Eureka baseball had a rocky week last week as they fell to both Caney and Flinthills.
The team first traveled to Caney on Monday, April 7, where the Tornadoes were unable to get into a rhythm and fell 0-15 and 1-16 in varsity action.
Eureka then made the short trip to Rosalia where they took on the Mustangs of Flinthills on Thursday, April 10. The Tornadoes were tied at 1 after the first and held strong the next two innings; but, the tides turned in the fourth and it wasn’t in Eureka’s favor. The Mustangs tallied six runs in the fourth and the Tornadoes trailed 1-7. The Tornadoes lost the game 2-11.
Eureka collected 11 hits in the game. Brody Mitchell went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Ethan Bauer and Tanner Biering each collected multiple hits for the Tornadoes.
