Three area wrestlers claimed hardware at the USAWKS 2025 State Folkstyle Championship over the weekend, as they finished in the top six of their weight class.
Eureka Wrestling Club’s (EWC) Harlie Owings and Elk County Wrestling’s (ECW) Hendrix Ellsbury each placed fifth in their weight classes. ECW’s Kash Bidwell placed fourth in his division.
Ellsbury is a second grader at West Elk Elementary School. She is the daughter of Allison and Drew Owens of Fall River.
Owings is a junior at Eureka Junior/Senior High School. She is the daughter of Greggory Owings and Nikole Tackett, both of Eureka.
Bidwell is a fifth grader at West Elk Elementary School. He is the son of Miles and Kactus Bidwell of Severy.
Others representing EWC included Brynlee Ashlock, 10U Girls 70; Adleigh Ray, 12U Girls 110; and Maela Neill, High School Girls 125.
Others representing ECW included Autum Love, 12U Girls 85; Lakin Love, 12U Girls 110; Emma Baumgartel, 14U Girls 101; Tristen Mast, 8U 110; Pyper Ford, 12U Girls 120 and Jayce Baumgartel, 8U 40.
