Community members gathered together at Memorial Hall last Thursday, March 13 for a special reception honoring Isaac Boone as “Community Member of the Year” for 2024.
Boone was nominated for the monthly honor and selected as Community Member Of The Month last March for his various efforts throughout the community. The nomination stated, “Isaac has demonstrated a heart of service that deserves to be acknowledged and applauded. He is an example of how personal and professional accomplishment can benefit the community around him. He has proven himself to be a role model to the younger generations he has donated his time to teaching and coaching.”
Boone currently serves as President of the Eureka Foundation, serves on the Eureka Recreation Commission and volunteers as a coach for various youth activities. Boone, who has served as a pharmacist for the Eureka community since 2012, purchased the Eureka Pharmacy in January of this year and continues to assist patients in various ways. Boone received the most comm unity votes through the ballot process for Community Member of the Year, which was voted by the community in December 2024 – January 2025. Boone and his wife Heidi reside in rural Eureka with their three children, Brylee, Asher and Emory.
Others being recognized as Community Members of the Month during 2024 were Ariel Treece, Tammi Burtin, Heather Fuesz, Chris Cummings, Mike Pitko, Greenwood County Rodeo Association, Lela Day and Eureka Christmas Wellspring.
Boone is the fourth person to be named for the annual honor. He joins Dolores Ball (2021) Barbara “Barbie” Schlotterbeck (2022) and Miranda Colangelo (2023).
The Community Member of the Month committee plans to continue the monthly and annual honor in 2025. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, Lo-Mar Drive-in and the City of Eureka water office.
