The Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Association (GCCA) held its Centennial membership meeting on the evening of March 4, at the Eureka United Methodist Church. Following a meal provided by the Eureka Methodist Women, members were treated to a presentation by Eureka’s FFA Livestock Judging Team and their coach, Trint Peine. Team members T.J. Mills, Corinne Nelson and Hannah Perrier recounted the highlights of their international judging trip, along with team member Lyle Perrier, to Edenborough, Scotland and their exploration of surrounding areas.
During the business meeting, officers and directors were elected for the 2025-2026 year: Brance Boone, President; C.A. Floyd, Vice-President; Michele Seeley, Secretary; Preston Turecek, Treasurer; and Directors Lukas Dierks, Chad Gibson, Shawn Mills, Zach Teter and Levi Winscher.
Additionally, members approved ongoing support for various ag-related events and programs in Greenwood County, with funding dedicated for: ag scholarships for county seniors, the Kansas Beef Council, sponsorship of the Greenwood County 4-H Livestock Sale, the Born and Bred Award, the Flint Hills Classic Livestock Show, Farm Bureau’s Day on the Farm, GCCA’s flagship event and Cattlemen’s Day.
Door prizes were won by Harold Engle, Winscher, Karen Engle, S. Mills, Heather Fuesz, Peine, Carolyn Perrier, Cheryl Sowder and Harold Garner.
