Greenwood County Museum To Offer Program On William Allen White

Kansas history is rich with fascinating stories, many told by Emporia editor William Allen White. When the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) re-emerged across America in the 1920s, White conducted a two-month, 2,700-mile campaign to deliver 104 speeches against the KKK.

This will be the topic of the fifth Monday presentation at the Greenwood County Historical Museum on Monday, March 31. The program begins at 7 p.m. and will be given by Beverly Olson Buller, author, educator and chair of the William Allen White Children’s Book Awards selection committee in Emporia.

The public is invited to attend the free program, part of Humanities Kansas’s Speakers Bureau. It will be held at the Greenwood County Museum, 120 W. 4th Street, in Eureka.
