The monthly meeting of the Madison Pacesetters (MPS) 4-H Club was called to order by president Caylin Luthi on March 5 at 7 p.m. at the Madison Sauder Building. Roll call was “What is your favorite dessert?” Thirty members, two leaders, and three clover buds answered the roll call. Birthdays this month are Copper Luthi, Gracelynn Stock, Reece Hurlburt, Laikyn Henke, Maelee Schankie, and Archer Schankie. Report of officers was given; Brynn Roth gave the treasurer’s report, Larkyn Bailey gave a reporter’s report. Council report by Roth said the council is planning a joint meeting with Coffee County 4-Hers March 31; Leader’s report by Ty Gaines talked about 4-H days and how well the club did, as well as the club completing at Regional 4-H days in the model meeting competition March 22 at Madison High School. MPS will have a concession stand at the regional 4-H days as well.
Next month, the club will have a joint meeting with the Hamilton 4-H Club (Willow Valley Go-Getters). There was no old business. In new business, the club voted to donate $50 for trophy donations. The club will be participating in the Madison 4-H parade again this year at Madison Days. The club will have a float in the parade. The club will also be doing a hog roast for their main fundraiser after the parade. The program began with a project talk from Cooper Luthi about his beef project. Hope Miller’s project talk was about break roping. Health and environment, Jorja Beeman talked about daylight savings time. Show and Share was Cole Miller. He shared about his beef project. The meeting was adjourned by all saying the club motto. After the meeting, there were project meetings of visual arts, photography and the horse project.
The next meeting will be April 2 at 7 p.m.
