After attending an open gym event at Butler Community College (BCC), Eureka senior Charlotte Pfister knew she wanted to cheer at the collegiate level, and she wanted to do so for the Grizzlies.
“I saw how much the team acted like a family. The supportive environment, teamwork, and passion they showed made me realize that I wanted to be part of something that special,” she stated.
Pfister has been on the cheer team throughout her high school career, and was a member of the third place team, at 2A State Cheer in fall 2024.
She plans to obtain her associates degree at BCC, before attending Wichita State University to earn a degree in dental hygiene.
“Butler Community College stood out for its strong academic programs, supportive community, and excellent athletic opportunities,” stated Pfister. “Its close proximity to both of my homes made it the perfect place to continue my education and cheer career. The welcoming environment and opportunities for growth made my decision even easier,” she continued.
When asked what she loved most about cheer, she stated, “I love how cheerleading combines strength, agility, and performance into one high-energy sport.

The teamwork and trust built through stunts and routines creates an unbreakable bond with teammates. The thrill of hitting a perfect routine and hyping up the crowd makes all the hard work worth it.”
Pfister is the daughter of Dr. Sarah Burke of Eureka and Joshua Pfister of Wichita. She is the granddaughter of Martha and Michael Heffron of Reece and Renee and Paul Pfister of Newcastle, Neb.
