A special fundraiser is being planned for a former West Elk graduate who suffered preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome and delivered her first child at 29 weeks five days.

Kayla (Lynam) Schulte and her husband Anthony, welcomed Kasen Paul Schulte on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 2:31 p.m., weighing 3 pounds, 5 ounces.
