Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club

The H a r m o n y Sunflowers 4-H Club met for their monthly meeting on Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. in the basement of the Christ Lutheran Church. President Chason Gulick called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. Nineteen members, five clover buds and three leaders responded to roll call. This was the club’s backwards meeting, so the order of business was done backwards.

Vice President Clay Teter led the program. During recreation, Bryce Teter led the club members in playing a quiet teamwork game. Noah Everly-Burtin and Duke Coulter played a beach ball game to give the parliamentarian tip. Haidyn Evenson led the club in singing “The Wheels on the Bus.” Adelae Coulter gave a project talk on the different types of cactus. Braxtyn Evenson did a demonstration on how to make peanut butter bars. Gulick gave a project talk on different types of waterfowl. Tavin Austin gave a project talk on chickens.

Information was shared with the club on trophy donations, the stall signs used at the fair, spring show and weigh in dates, the Kansas Maid Fundraiser, and County 4-H Days. Cort Decker gave the 4-H Council update. B. Teter gave the treasurer’s report.

In new business, the club voted to pay the bills. They also voted to order new stall signs to be used in the barn at the fair.

B. Evenson read last month’s minutes, which were approved as read.

The next meeting will be March 2, at 4 p.m. at Memorial Hall with the Fancy Mustangs 4-H Club.
