A special reception was planned for this Wednesday, Feb. 19, to recognize Isaac Boone as the 2024 Community Member of the Year. However, due to the weather, the special reception has been postponed. As of presstime, the event hadn’t yet been rescheduled.
Boone, who was nominated for the monthly honor in March 2024, was voted as Community Member Of The Year by the community.
Boone, who serves the community as a pharmacist at Eureka Pharmacy (now current owner) and Greenwood County Hospital, is active in the community through various organization. He currently serves as President of the Eureka Foundation, serves on the Eureka Recreation Commission and volunteers as a coach for recreation activities. Others being recognized as Community Members of the Month during 2024 were: Ariel Treece, Tammi Burtin, Heather Fuesz, Chris Cummings, Mike Pitko, Greenwood County Rodeo Association, Lela Day and the Eureka Christmas Wellspring committee.
Others to be named Community Member Of The year include: Miranda Colangelo, 2023; Barbara “Barbie” Schlotterbeck, 2022; and Dolores Ball, 2021.
