– submitted by Sheila Hughes, secretary The regular monthly meeting of the Eureka Garden Club met on Friday, Feb. 7, at TNT Catering for lunch at 11.30 a.m. After lunch, President Vicki Lindsey called the meeting to order. She expressed appreciation to Patricia Soule, Diana Yows and Kathy Jackson for being hostesses. Twelve members, one associate member and two guests were present. It was reported that Salt Creek will have bedding plants in the spring for the Mini Garden. Desiree Craig and Mary Ann Thornton were voted in as new members. Connie Mitchell from the Eureka Public Library showed several gardening books that are available at the library. Some of the books were on beneficial insects and birds. She shared books on Fairy Gardens and some of the items she had purchased to make her own Fairy Garden.
Thornton, Lindsey and Cammie Wilson won the door prizes.
Next month’s hostesses will be Marilyn Seymour and Carol Ann Flock. The meeting will be on March 7 at TNT Catering. The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardener’s Creed.”
