Members of the Tornado wrestling team made the trip to Towanda last Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8 for the annual Circle Invitational.
Tornadoes Harlie Owings and Mason Hughes each claimed third place in their weight divisions.
Following are the individual match results for Eureka participants: 125: Maela Neill (22-14) received, won by fall over Tristel Schroeder (Haven HS) 22-16 (Fall 3:42), lost by fall to Liliana McKenna (Larned HS) 28-12 (Fall 3:37), won by fall over Sandra Babcock (Douglass HS) 14-15 (Fall 3:48), and lost a 7-10 decision to Amara Dossett (McPherson HS) 21-15.
170: Harlie Owings (308) placed 3rd. She received a bye, won by fall over Trynity Pope (Stafford HS/ Langdon-Fairfield HS/St. John-Hudson HS) 20-15 (Fall 5:33), lost by fall to Carly McAtee (Girard HS) 23-3 (Fall 0:58), won by fall over Kinley Atteberry (Larned HS) 14-13 (Fall 1:45), and won by fall over Brenah Cannon (Council Grove HS) 6-3 (Fall 4:16).
113: Mason Hughes (25-8) placed 3rd. He won by fall over Drake Defore (Leon-Bluestem HS) 14-18 (Fall 1:54), won by fall over Gommorrah McMutrey (El Dorado HS) 0-2 (Fall 1:04), lost by fall to Christian Planansky (Anthony/Harper- Chaparral HS) 22-3 (Fall 3:00), won by fall over Drake Defore (Leon-Bluestem HS) 14-18 (Fall 2:17), and won an 18-2 tech fall over Trenton Grimm (Cherryvale HS) 18-10 (4:31).
175: Kadin Deshane (721) received a bye, lost a 0-18 tech fall to DJ Mitchell (El Dorado HS) 27-10 (5:07), received a bye, won a 5-2 decision over Darius Hancock (Whitewater-Remington HS) 4-5, and lost by fall to Tripp Stormont (Council Grove HS/Allen-Northern Heights HS) 16-15 (Fall 0:49).
190: Ethan Bauer (13-15) lost by fall to Alonzo Burke (Frontenac HS) 28-11 (Fall 4:54), won by fall over Nick Brittain (Anthony/Harper- Chaparral HS) 5-17 (Fall 0:43), won by fall over Brayden Reese (Girard HS) 9-10 (Fall 0:35), and lost a 0-17 tech fall to Landon Armstrong (Larned HS) 2110 (2:11) 285: Killian Harrington (4-9) lost by fall to Cooper Woodruff (Clearwater HS) 23-16 (Fall 0:32), and lost by fall to Tristan Busby (El Dorado HS) 6-4 (Fall 4:45).
