This Friday, Feb. 7, Winter Homecoming royalty will be crowned at West Elk.
Festivities will begin at approximately 3:15 p.m., with the Homecoming Pep Assembly in the gym. At 4 p.m., the West Elk Patriot Basketball team will host Caldwell. The Homecoming Ceremony will take place at the halftime of the boys’ varsity game, with the winter formal (Homecoming dance) being held on Sat., Feb. 8, from 7:30-10 p.m.

The homecoming theme is “HomeSweetHomecoming.” The homecoming song is Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue. Homecoming Days are as follows: Tuesday, Feb. 4, – Home Run: students wore sports attire or Jerseys; Wednesday, Feb. 5 – Make Yourself at Home: Pajama Day; Thursday, Feb. 6 – Hangin’ with the Homies: Twin Day; and Friday, Feb. 7 – Home of the Brave: Red, White, and Blue Day.
This year’s candidates are, for Queen: Kylie Beougher, Marisa Ghramm, Nevaeh Tillapaugh and Trailyn Wiseman; for King: Boedy Murphy, Andruw Rodriquez, Mason Cookson and Clancy Cummings.
The kindergarten attendants are: Skylee Edwards, daughter of Nick Jacobs and Brook Edwards of Severy and Hudson Houchin, son of Adam and Crystal Houchin of Severy.
Beougher is the daughter of James and Jessie Beougher of Elk Falls.
Ghramm is the daughter of Tuffy and LaTisha Ghramm of Fall River.
Tillapaugh is the daughter of Preston Tillapaugh of Grenola and Rochelle Ratcliff of Moline.
Wiseman is the daughter of Jared and Bobbie Wiseman of Howard.
Murphy is the son of Damian and Kelly Murphy of Moline.
Rodriquez is the son of Tommy and Katy Rodriquez of Chanute and Brian and Stacie Baumgartel of Howard.
Cookson is the son of Derek Cookson and Rochelle Cookson of Howard.
Cummings is the son of Ron and Jessie Cummings of Howard.
