Here we are the middle of winter and Monday’s high was supposed to be in the low 70s! I don’t recall ever being able to wear shorts and t-shirts on the 3rd of February. With that day being my birthday, I remember more days being snowy and missing school, than days being this warm.

We offer our sympathy to all who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

My back is doing way better. I’m up and walking, but still have many restrictions.

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on Facebook about dogs running loose all over town. People need to be aware of the leash laws here in town. Dogs are not allowed to run free in town. Keep them in a pen, run or on a leash if you can’t train them to stay in their yard! Many dogs are trained to not leave their yards.

The Superbowl is Sunday. I’m excited, how about you? There will be parties everywhere. If you go somewhere to watch the game, please have a designated driver if you’re going to drink. Are you the type of person who likes to go to big watch parties or do you prefer to stay home? We prefer to stay home.

Whatever your preference, have fun!

I guess that is one thing good about using a computer. As long as you remember to save your work, periodically!

Have you all noticed the large numbers of snow geese? Every time I go somewhere we see giant flocks of them. Don't know why we are seeing so many this year, I suppose biologists would know.

A Kansas Day Celebration was held on Feb. 1. See related article on page 11.

Quote: “The free exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world.” John Steinbeck
