Several Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) members traveled to Chanute on Sunday, Feb. 2, for the 30th Annual Woods Classic.
Following are the individual match results for EWC participants: Girls 8U-60-65: Oaklyn Smith placed 4th. She won a 15-0 tech fall over Carolyn Whitcomb (Humboldt Cubs Wrestling Club); and won by fall over Isabella Uden (Red Devil Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:24).
Boys 8U-55 OpenA: Jad Day placed 5th.
Girls 12U-110-115: Adleigh Ray placed 3rd. She won by fall over Remie Hubbell (Fort Scott Kids Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:55); won by fall over Brilee Stich (Chanute Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:19); andwon by fall over Lakin Love (Elk County Wrestling) (Fall 2:36).
Boys 12U-110-115 Open: Felix Neill placed 4th. He won by fall over Graham Fulton (Piper wrestling club) (Fall 1:12); and won a 16-1 tech fall over Marccus Whitcomb (Humboldt Cubs Wrestling Club).
Boys 6U-52A: Remington Genoble won by fall over Gunner Jacks (Chanute Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:37).
Boys 6U-5B: Kase Vinson placed 1st. He won by fall over Paxton Wilderman (Matside Wrestling Academy) (Fall 0:58); won by fall over Riggs Gumfory (Iola Kids Wrestling) (Fall 0:13); won a 9-8 decision over Beau Houchin (Elk County Wrestling); and won by fall over Memphis Rains (Caney Valley Wrestling) (Fall 2:37).
Boys 6U-61-64: Graham Bechtel placed 3rd. He won by forfeit over Rhett Johnson (Neodesha Wrestling Club); won by fall over Axten Cummins (Fredonia Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:13); and won by fall over Nickolas Bone (Cherryvale Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:11).
Girls 10U-125-140: Kinslee Vinson placed 3rd. She won by fall over Hadlee Plumley (Cherryvale Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:33).
Boys 10U-52-55: Tanner Wade placed 4th.
Boys 10U-73 Novice: Carter Winn placed 2nd. He won by fall over Jackson James (Pittsburg Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:36); won a 9-3 decision over Adrian Austin (Parsons Wrestling Club); and won a 7-0 decision over Jacoby Schossow (Matside Wrestling Academy).
Boys 10U-82-85 Open: Keon Jones placed 4th. He won by fall over Cole Lawrence (Fort Scott Kids Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:45); and won a 12-0 major decision over Parker Journot (Matside Wrestling Academy).
Boys 14U-115-120: Tate Scott placed 3rd. He won a 15-0 tech fall over Raidan Buckman (Fort Scott Kids Wrestling Club); won by fall over Bo Thomsen (Burlington Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:00); and won by fall over Walker Leabo (Kansas Thunderstruck Wrestling) (Fall 0:48).
Boys 14U-125: Christian Sanchez won a 9-5 decision over Jefrey Cavaness (C.K.W.C.).
