My Eureka Minute

This Friday, Jan. 31, students from South Dakota State University are traveling to Eureka to use our beloved 100-year-old Memorial Hall as a site for their design project.

We often overlook the beauty of the structures that surround us. Some may be run down or not as sparkly as they were say, 100 years ago, but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful. The craftsmanship of the buildings on Main Street in our Historic Main Street District are seldom duplicated in projects of today. And, while we don’t have the resources right now to restore them, it is meaningful that students from another state are interested in a building that we use every day and don’t often stop to appreciate.

These students are coming down and are seeking input from our citizens about what the shape and function Memorial Hall should take in its next phase of life please make an effort to participate in the community meeting beginning at 4:30 at Memorial Hall. Questions? Email us at [email protected] The next Myreka meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 11 at noon. Hope to see you there.
