Four Patriot wrestlers of West Elk High School made the trip to Wellsville last Friday, Jan. 17, for a long day of wrestling.
Patriot Senior Josh Patteson went 3-1 for the night to bring home second place honors.
Following are the individual results for Patriot wrestlers: 106: Welch Murphy (167) placed 6th. He won by fall over Gavin Collins (Anderson County ) 18-10 (Fall 1:44); lost by fall to Landon Higgins (Jayhawk Linn) 20-1 (Fall 0:38); lost a 7-10 decision in sudden victory to Aedin Mcgregor (Jayhawk Linn) 11-12; and lost by fall to Gavin Collins (Anderson County ) 18-10 (Fall 2:39).
175: Landon Wunderlich (6-7) received a bye; lost a 4-7 decision to Vance Hahn (Louisburg) 16-10; and lost by fall to Coltaun Bartlett (Prairie View) 10-16 (Fall 3:41).
215: Joshua Patteson (18-5) placed 2nd. He won by fall over Cody Pennington (Onaga) 2-12 (Fall 0:41); won by fall over Johnny Colin (Prairie View ) 9-10 (Fall 2:39); won by fall over Jayden Morrison (West Franklin ) 10-3 (Fall 0:14); and lost by fall to Ashton Moore (Louisburg) 19-2 (Fall 2:59).
285: Edward Metcalf (6-15) lost by fall to Ben Maddy (Burlington) 5-5 (Fall 1:59); and lost by fall to Kaysen Jensen (Jayhawk Linn) 5-5 (Fall 2:58).
