With the rise of inflation, small businesses, including this one, have also had to make changes. Cutting back on services and decreasing expenses simply isn’t enough; however, we are slow to put it on our customers as we know the impact they are feeling. But, sometimes the rates have to be raised. Unfortunately, we at The Herald are losing readers due to inflation. Although the cost of the weekly edition is still below the cost of a drink or a candy bar, many have made the decision to cut it out of their routine.
Last week, we received a renewal form back, but it didn’t come back with a renewal payment. It simply had a letter that read, “Sorry, I will not renew this year. I will cut all ties I have with the place where I was born 90 years ago. Inflation has finally broke me.”
